眾所周知的美國 Stereophile 雜誌，通常都是針對兩聲道器材做評論報導；於是當 Lyngdorf MXA-8400 出現在雜誌社時，評論員 Kalman Rubinson 隨即熱衷於對新世代最先進 D類擴大機技術的探究、以一台多功能的立體聲功率擴大機視之，也以 Bi-Amp 甚至 Quad-Amp 的應用探索 MXA-8400 的能耐。
在試聽室中的 Kalman，以及長期在實驗室中、特別關注器材特性量測的前主編 John Atkinson，兩位都對 MXA-8400 的表現印象深刻：

Lyngdorf MXA-8400 音質出眾，能夠將我的揚聲器推至實際的高音量，並重現逼真悅耳的音效、無論是私密細膩的還是恢弘龐大的；功率輸出從來都不是問題。牢靠鎖住的 XLR 輸入端子與 speakON 輸出接頭安全便捷。我本來就很期待能試聽 MXA-8400，現在卻因為必須返還而感到不悅。如果您正在尋找多聲道功率擴大機，MXA-8400 應該是您的首選。

動態提升
強弱對比明顯更好，扎實的低頻、自然延伸的高頻，更不會有有大動態的時候失真或壓縮、控制不住時變成失真的狀態。
音場表現提升
整體空間感變大，包含高低、左右、深淺都大一圈，喇叭更容易消失在空間中。
密度質感提升、躁感降低
形體中的雜質更少、更純粹，毛邊減少，背景非常黑，主體可以更突出，伴奏清晰不搶戲。
